Benefits of letting the spirit man lead

Benefits of letting the spirit-man lead

After following the series of posts on the spirit, soul, and body of man, it is clear that the spirit-man is the real you. Despite this, people suppress the spirit-man thereby abiding by the rules of the flesh. The flesh/natural man/body acts against God’s will (Romans 8: 7-8).

At salvation, the Holy Spirit dwells in us, He makes His abode in us. Remember that our body is the temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6: 19). The Spirit of God being a spiritual being communicates with our spirit-man. It’s through this communication we are able to receive directions on what to do, where to go, what to avoid, etc. He also brings to our remembrance things we’ve forgotten e.g a Bible passage for warfare, school work.

Before Jesus ascended to Heaven, He promised to send the comforted whom God the Father will send in His name. His Job is to teach us ALL things and also bring to our remembrance all that Jesus has told us (John 14: 26). In this Bible passage, various versions refer to the Holy Spirit as the helper/ advocate/comforter. This means that God already sent us help. Then why are people still suffering?

The reason why people are still struggling in life is because their spirit-man is not in tune with the spirit of God. They are too busy chasing the cares of this world that they find little or no time to spend with the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit arrived earth on the day of Pentecost and His presence was felt in the upper room (Acts 2: 41-42). He is presently on earth but will leave together with the saints of God when the rapture takes place. The Spirit of God longs for our individual fellowship with Him.

Benefits of letting your spirit-man lead you

When your spirit is in charge of your body and has a relationship with the Holy Spirit, this results in a most fulfilling life on earth.

  1. You are secure in Christ, there is no doubt about your salvation.
  2. Divine direction: There are some situations in life where people will end up wasting lots of time before receiving a breakthrough which could have been avoided. For example, I’ll use Janet and Ronke as illustrations.

Janet believes in hustling, she believes determination and hardwork are key to access what you desire. This is true but without the leading of the Holy Spirit, struggle is inevitable. Ronke on the other hand believes in divine direction. She speaks to God and always follows His leading.

Janet and Ronke are law graduates and need to write a particular exam to secure their choice jobs. Every time Ronke thought of writing this exam, the Spirit of God would tell her to hold on. Janet made several attempts at passing the exam and was finally successful at the 5th attempt. By this time she had wasted time and resources.

Although Ronke was released to write the exam in the 5th year, she already had her masters degree and PHD. She was a more qualified candidate than Janet. The difference is very clear when you follow divine direction against your own will.

  1. One enjoys divine protection.
  2. Divine provision
  3. Express answer to prayers
  4. Academic excellence: He will not only teach and explain things to you, but He will also help you recall things.
  5. Peace: If you feel a certain way, you can always call on Him to help you.
  6. Fulfill destiny in grand style.

It’s more profitable for your spirit man to rule your body than the other way round.

If you want to surrender to Jesus, take this salvation prayer.

Lord Jesus, I come to you today as a sinner, I surrender to you. Forgive me all my sins, wash me clean by your blood, and deliver me from the power of sin and death. I believe that you died for me and on the third day you rose again. I accept you as my Lord and Saviour. Come into my heart and be the Lord of my life. Thank you Lord, for delivering me from the power of sin and death. I am delivered, I am saved and now a child of God.

Congratulations my dear brother and sister. Now a brand new you have emerged because if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation (2 Corinthians 5: 17). If you just surrendered to Jesus, you can reach us lychicrafts@gmail.com to stay in touch.
