Man is a spirit, he has a soul and he lives in the body. It is therefore safe to say that the body enables man to have physical contact with earth. Spiritual beings without bodies are not seen with the natural eyes only if God opens our spiritual eyes.
There have been numerous encounters of people with a near-death experience. Some of them went to Heaven/ hell and then came back to tell their experiences. Their testimonies are quite similar when it comes to how they left their body.
As I stated in the previous post, the body of man is made out of dust (Genesis 3:19) and would return back to dust after one dies. Believers in Christ who have lived life according to God’s standards will be given new bodies in Heaven (Philippians 3:21).
On the other hand, the spirit of man is made from the breath of God (Genesis 2: 7) which gives life. When the spirit leaves the body, he becomes dead on earth but more alive in eternity.
The Body on Earth
On earth, people through their attitudes have made the body the most important part of man. They want to get rich, buy cars, build mansions, become famous, etc. This is their primary goal. As they do these things, they push the spirit to the background.
Life is a marketplace where one is expected to execute the assignment God has given us and then go back home (eternity) for our rewards. Unfortunately, some only realize this when they die. Those that have had near death experience will tell you that there is really nothing so important about earth and when we go, we can’t take any physical thing along.
All the houses, cars, phones distracting people on earth cannot follow them to eternity. All the certificates and earthly awards one has gotten will only end here on earth. The only thing we will take to eternity is how well we spent our lives on earth
Don’t let your body control your being. The body is very selfish and craves for earthly things which at the end of the day may lead to destruction. When the spirit man is in charge of your being, you will yield both earthly and heavenly benefits. Choose right.

Lord Jesus, I come to you today as a sinner, I surrender to you. Forgive me all my sins, wash me clean by your blood, and deliver me from the power of sin and death. I believe that you died for me and on the third day you rose again. I accept you as my Lord and Saviour. Come into my heart and be the Lord of my life. Thank you Lord, for delivering me from the power of sin and death. I am delivered, I am saved and now a child of God.
