Exploits in your finances

Financial exploit: Exploits in your finances

When we talk about financial exploit, it refers to exploits in business, properties, careers, etc. Money is said to answer all things (Ecc. 10:19) but the love of money is the root of all evil (1 Timothy 6: 10). There have been various debates of money being bad or good for a believer but thank God for light and clarity on the matter.

It is God’s will for man to prosper and be in health even as our soul prospereth (3 John 1: 2). But one cannot serve both masters i.e God and mammon/ money (Matthew 6: 24). Putting your love for money above God is a recipe for difficulty and disaster. Focusing your attention on what you can receive from God rather than what you can do for Him is a wrong move.

One thing we should know about our finances is that it is God that gives us the power to get wealth (Deut 8: 18). Also the process of acquiring kingdom wealth involves a covenant. It does not answer to prayer and fasting. Once your part is played, then you’ve committed God to make do His promise and remember that God is too faithful to fail. Things on earth require both spiritual and physical input. You don’t become wealthy hoping/ having faith and doing nothing. Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might, for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest (Deut 9: 10). Therefore, in addition to faith/ hope, it’s important to work.

For every promise and good news God has given us in His Word, there is a place of instruction. The same Word of God instructs us on what to do and until our part is played, we won’t see results. This makes a lot of sense now. Those days I wondered why pastors/ men of God who perform miracles were still borrowing and struggling in the area of finances. The Word of God tells us that a borrower is a servant to the lender (Proverbs 22:7) and also says that we will lend to many nations and not borrow (Deut 15: 6). Hence, the reason why people still struggle and not seeing financial exploit is that they are not doing what is meant to be done and God is not a respecter of persons. Until we play our part, we will not see any results.

What must you do to experience exploits in your finances?

Salvation

To access kingdom wealth which is the lasting wealth, we must know God. The only way to know God is through Jesus. Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. One can’t have access to The Father without Jesus.

Covenant Practice

As I said earlier, if your part is not played, don’t expect to receive anything. The silver and Gold belong to God. So what is the covenant? It’s the covenant of seed time and harvest which shall not cease i.e whatsoever you sow you will reap.

Areas where covenant practice is required with respect to finances

  1. Tithing

This means 10% of your income/ increase. It was present in the old testament and is still very much present (Malachi 3: 8- 12). The benefit of obeying this instruction is in the same passage. There has been controversy regarding this area and this isn’t new.

Wherever the enemy sees what a believer has to benefit from what a particular scripture, he tries to confuse him/her. This is why we should ask the Spirit of God for help with our understanding when reading the scriptures.

Whenever you notice that things are tight, check your tithing. If you’ve been faithful with your tithe then take it up to God in prayers because He said in His Word that He will rebuke the devourer for our sake. Those who are against tithing, what they don’t know is that even though they don’t tithe to God, they tithe to other things e.g medications, car/vehicle repair, arising needs, etc.

Furthermore

A number of times, those who don’t tithe get indebted before the month ends, why? Because the blessing of God is absent. It’s the blessing of God that makes rich and adds no sorrow (Proverbs 10: 22). No matter how small your monthly pay may be, as long as the blessing is there and you play your part by avoiding irrelevances, it will last. On the other hand, if tithing is absent and you earn a lot, there is no guarantee on the money.

Tithing, although the earthly action is physical, it’s actually a spiritual transaction. When you think that it’s the pastor that you are enriching by paying tithe, you’ll miss out on the benefits. Jesus is the one who receives our tithes (Hebrews 7: 8, Revelation 1: 18). Even though we see men receiving them physically, the most important transaction is the spiritual one which we don’t see that Jesus receives.

  1. Giving to the kingdom of God

This has lots of benefits attached to it. King David had it in his heart to build God a temple (2 Chronicles 6: 7), Solomon offered sacrifices to God and see where that landed him (@ Chronicles 1: 6- 8). Nehemiah was passionate about rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem, within 52 days it was complete and from a cupbearer, he became a governor (Nehemiah 1-8). The list goes on and on.

Other portals of covenant practice and financial exploit include;

  1. Giving to the poor and needy (Proverbs 19: 17, Proverbs 28: 27). Luke 12: 33 says, “Sell your possessions and give to those in need. This will store up treasure for you in heaven! And the purses of heaven never get old or develop holes. Your treasure will be safe; no thief can steal it and no moth can destroy it”.
  2. Giving to your prophet/ pastor (Matthew 10: 41).

Finally, to experience financial exploit, don’t be a waster. Cut your coat according to your size.
