The relationship between faith and marriage

Marriage: Relationship between Faith and marriage

All things are possible to them that believe, this is also applicable regarding marriage. One’s marital destiny is a very sensitive aspect in life and a single mistake can lead to havoc in one’s life. A wrong marriage has a way of affecting other areas in one’s life resulting in emotional instability. A friend of mine would say, everyone has their own date in the calendar. While this is true, there are factors that need to be taken into consideration.

When a young Lady or Man gets to a particular age, everyone’s eye is on them to get married. They themselves become uncomfortable and begin to feel left out especially when they see their fellow colleagues getting married and nothing like that is happening in their lives. As a result of this, a number of people have rushed into wrong marriages which could either break or make one. Some people have even died as a result of a bad marriage.

Marriage is not something one jumps into with divorce at the back of their minds. The devil knows the value of a good and Godly home that’s why he targets the family unit.

Children brought up in Godly Christian homes are in most cases different from those coming from broken homes. Love, Trust and Godly character are usually seen among children from unbroken Christian homes. Some of these children even doubt the reality of a wrong marriage because of what they’ve seen in the lives of their parents.

Everything has been rosy for them. Children from broken home have a high tendency of becoming victims of low self-esteem, reduced love, and care which could make the become wayward. Most of them really need divine intervention.

God’s Perception of Marriage

Regarding Marriage, the first marriage in the bible was consummated by God ( Gen 2: 23- 24). God brought Eve to Adam and immediately, Adam said, “this is now the bone of my bone and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called a woman because she was taken out of man”. It is God that made this possible. God created every one of us and He gave us a particular partner with whom we would complete the work He has given us.

God is the only one that knows who your spouse is because He created both of you. Therefore, if you are interested in knowing about your spouse, you can just ask Him. God will be leading you through various directions during this period. Your part is to follow and obey Him (just as I wrote earlier on the post of obedience).

He might tell or show them one or 2 things about their spouse, some He may not. Irrespective of the category one may belong to, the most important thing is to obey every instruction He gives you.

Sometimes, a delay could be as a result of principalities and powers standing on ones way, it could be as a result of generational curses but whatever the case may be, there is always a way out.

Prayer and fasting work to dislodge the hand of the enemy from one’s life and clearing off the barrier on one’s path. One thing is also necessary to have a glorious marital destiny which is Divine Favour. Once God Favours you, no one can stand in your way.

Proverbs 18: 22 says, “He who finds a wife finds a good thing, And obtains favor from the LORD”.

How does one find favor with God?

First and foremost, be born again. Secondly, by serving God and the interest of His kingdom through praying for lost souls and reaching out to them (Soul winning)

Psalm 102: 13- 14

13 You will arise and have mercy on Zion;

For the time to favor her,

Yes, the set time has come.

14 For Your servants take pleasure in her stones,

And show favor to her dust.

When the favor of God comes on you, doors begin to open, great things begin to happen. When you serve God and put His interest first in your heart, that’s the same way He will put you first and work things all out in your favor.

One should also remember that He makes He makes all things beautiful in His time (Ecc 3: 11).

Development of one’s self physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually is very vital even before one gets married. If you have done all you need to do and are presently serving God and the interest of His kingdom but haven’t seen anything happening, be calm. God is working out something in your favor. Just keep serving Him and add more effort towards developing yourself because God is never too late. He is always on time. Some of those that have gone before you, you will surely overtake.

It is also important that you accept Jesus into your life if you haven’t and let Him be your personal Lord and Saviour. If you are in this category, join me in the salvation prayer.

   SALVATION PRAYER

Lord Jesus, I come as a sinner, forgive me all my sins, cleanse me with your blood. I accept you today as my personal Lord and Saviour, I am free from all powers of sin, to serve the living God.
