The Love God has for Man.

When people complain about the “harsh” decisions God made in the old testament I wonder how easy it is for them to pick the situation out of context. Thank God for being the creator of the universe and for loving man so much that He made us in His very image and likeness.

If we read through the old testament, we would see how man kept on disappointing God despite God giving us all we needed. He is so merciful and patient. If it were all those short gods they were serving in those days, it would have been another story entirely. God loves man so much that when man sins, He still gives grace for repentance.

God’s only begotten son, Jesus was sacrificed for the sins of man. They hung him on the cross (which was an abomination, Gal. 3: 13) in between two criminals. He was crucified for the sin He didn’t commit after being beaten and spat on.

Jesus radiates the love of God for man all through. He was aware of what would befall Him and knew that the same people He died for were the ones that would kill Him, He didn’t complain. His eyes were fixed on doing the will of the Father i.e, bringing man back to God.

1 Corinthians 5: 18 

All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation:

Colossians 1: 15- 20

15 The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. 

16 For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. 

17 He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.

18 And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy. 

19 For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, 

20 and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.

Through the sacrifice of Jesus we now have access to power, wealth, wisdom, might, honour, glory and blessing. This can only be accessed through knowledge. The reason people are still suffering despite being children of God is because they have no knowledge of this (Hosea 4: 6).

I will finish up this post with Ephesians 3: 16-19

16 I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, 

17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, 

18 may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, 

19 and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.God loves us so much and remembers that He even loved us while we were yet sinners. Jesus still intercedes for us till today after being slain as a lamb on our behalf.

Lord Jesus, I come to you today as a sinner, I surrender to you. Forgive me all my sins, wash me clean by your blood, and deliver me from the power of sin and death. I believe that you died for me and on the third day you rose again. I accept you as my Lord and Saviour. Come into my heart and be the Lord of my life. Thank you Lord, for delivering me from the power of sin and death. I am delivered, I am saved and now a child of God.
