TO SEE THE PROMISES OF GOD COME TO PASS IN YOUR LIFE

For us to see the promises of God fulfilled in our lives, there are things we must do.

First and foremost, the goal of every Christian is to make Heaven and this cannot be achieved if you don’t give your life to Christ.

1) Salvation

To see the promises of God fulfilled in your life and to enjoy the blessings of God both on earth and in Heaven, salvation is a requirement. Accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and saviour and then start working in the light of the scriptures.

This includes Christians and unbelievers. Not everyone that says he is a Christian is really a child of God so you need to judge yourself and know where you stand. God’s promises are only for his children and the reason some may not be enjoying this is that they are really not His.

Once you know where you stand and have dedicated or rededicated your life to Christ then we can move to the next step which is love.

2) Love

Love is important to see the promises of God come to pass

The topic of love is quite broad, a lot can be written about it and yet not everything said. Love founded the universe, love is powerful, love can heal a broken heart and bring the worst criminal to Christ. Most importantly, God is Love.

There are all kinds of love but the one I’m writing about is Agape love, it is a sacrificial love that voluntarily suffers all kinds of things including death for another’s benefit expecting nothing in return.

Let’s look further at the characteristics of love from 1 Corinthians 13: 4-7 (NKJV)

4) Love suffers long and is kind; it does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up;

5) does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil;

6) does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth;

7) bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

Now, in relation to our topic, without love, you can’t go far in life and won’t be able to access the promises of God.

The first time I heard that the 10 commandments have been summarized into two with love being the basis of both, I was surprised and at the same time happy.

Bible passages

There is no need for marking or avoiding one sin or the other in the law given by Moses because honestly speaking, you cannot do it on your own. Jesus came and summed it up into 2 laws in Matthew 22: 37-40

37 Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’

38 This is the first and great commandment.

39 And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbour as yourself.’

40 On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”

So you can see how important love is. It’s like the essence of everything once you love God first, then your neighbour as yourself, you are obeying the commandment. All the blessings attached to it, comes to you naturally but if you get out of love, you won’t like what will come your way.

I advise that once you notice you are out of love, repent. Rush back in because nothing is worth taking you away from the love of God.

It is important to note that you can’t love your neighbour if you don’t love yourself, you can’t take care of another person if you don’t take care of yourself, you can’t give what you don’t have.

Still on love

Self-development is very important as a child of God, if you want to make an impact on other people’s lives and truly obey the law, you need to take time to develop yourself Spiritually (which is the real you), mentally (your mind, emotions) and Physically ( eat well, exercise, etc).

Like I said previously, you cannot do it on your own, you need the Spirit of God to help you. Anyone that has given his or her life to God has the Holy Spirit within, and this love is placed in your heart by the Holy Spirit. Romans 5: 5

And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.

The Holy Spirit makes all the difference, He makes life easy for us. You won’t really understand what I mean until you start to fellowship with Him.

He is the third person of the Trinity, the Spirit of God and He really longs to help you. The Holy Spirit also wants to have a relationship with you but He will not force Himself into your life. The Spirit of God only waits for your invitation.

A final note on love

Finally, on the brief introduction to love. It’s important you work towards having these qualities of love, make a conscious effort.

Yes when you have the Holy Spirit within you, He makes it easier but you have to play your part by willingly submitting to Him so He can lead you aright.

The will is a gift from God and every man has a will of his own. The will to follow the wrong or right path is why man is either rewarded or punished for whatever decision he makes.

Love cannot be substituted for Faith, Prayer, Fasting, and Giving, in fact, Faith, Prayer, Fasting, and Giving will not work without love.

This is to show how important love is, saying that you love God is not enough, you need to prove it by loving what He loves and hating what He hates.

3) Obedience

I have written on salvation and love being important when it comes to seeing the promises of God in your life. Obedience is another important key to see the promises of God come to pass in your life.

Obedience to God, His word, His leading is very important and Obedience is also linked to divine guidance/direction.

The Holy Spirit is our guide on earth and He helps us to understand the Bible better.

He helps us in fulfilling our glorious destiny and when Jesus comes and we go with Him to heaven, that’s when the Spirit of God will leave the earth. If we obey God’s word and His leading, we will not run into trouble.

When I read the book of Ruth, I noticed in the first chapter that Naomi, her husband, and two children left Bethlehem-Judah to Moab because of farming. Within few years, Naomi had lost all she left with.

Bible verses

Form this story, it is obvious that leaving Bethlehem-Judah was not the plan of God for Naomi. There was a similar situation in Genesis 26: 1-2 concerning Isaac;

vs 1:

Now there was a famine in the land–besides the previous famine in Abraham’s time–and Isaac went to Abimelek king of the Philistines in Gerar.

vs 2: And the LORD appeared unto him, and said, Go not down into Egypt; dwell in the land which I shall tell thee of:

Isaac obeyed God and was blessed all around. Disobedience is very costly and has cost some people their lives. We are to obey the word of God and also the voice of God, how do you know when God speaks to you?

Hmmm, that’s another topic entirely but have you ever felt uncomfortable about a particular decision you’ve taken or happy about another? Some people call it intuition.

This is called the inner witness and is the primary way God leads all His children.

God’s leadings

There are other ways God leads us such as the still small voice, the audible voice, etc which has been explained in Kenneth Hagin’s book on how to be led by the Spirit but the major day-to-day way God leads us is through the inward witness.

As you begin to fellowship with the Holy Spirit, you know His voice, it’s all a process, you have to keep growing.

A lot of people miss out on destiny, some want to travel abroad for greener pastures, they believe things will be better when they get there then end up losing all just like Naomi.

Others just want to go because their friends have gone and are telling them of the good things they have which in some cases are not always true and even if they are right, are you sure it is the will of God for you to go? Have you asked Him?

Importance of God’s leading

He is the only one that knows the future. It is important you know that when God leads you, when you follow His leading when you are in His plan, He protects you, He builds an edge around you like Job so that the devil will not be able to touch what belongs to you.  When you don’t obey Him, when you are out of His will, there is no edge o.

Even prayer cannot be a substitute for your obedience to God. Obedience is better than sacrifice. I will give you some Bible passages to study for you to see the blessings that accompany those who love and obey God. Loving God and Obeying Him in all areas, makes life easy. Some of such ways include; tithes, offerings, giving to the needy, etc.

There are others that are also important to see the promises of God come to pass in your life that I will be speaking briefly on and one of which is Faith.

4) Faith

Without faith, it is impossible to please God and the definition of Faith can be seen in Hebrews 11:1.

Faith is like our Spiritual hand that we use in receiving spiritual things into the physical realm. Remember that the spiritual realm controls the physical. In order for something to manifest physically, it has already taken place in the spiritual realm.

Faith is in levels. How fast you get what you ask for (as far as it is the will of God both in His written and spoken word) depends on the level of your faith because it’s to every one according to his faith. I will stop here for now on faith because there is still much more to be said about faith. You should know that faith is important to see the promises of God fulfilled.

5) Prayer

Also, to see the promises of God come to pass in your life, it is important to pray. This is how we communicate with our Heavenly Father. We ask God for what we desire in prayers. We pray for friends and more importantly the kingdom of God. People are not really aware of the benefits of praying for God’s kingdom.

This has to do with praying for souls to be saved because the soul of a man is very important to God. He loves man very much. It is His will that all men are saved,

2 Peter 3:9;

The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

Some will say that since He is God, He can make every one saved. Well, that’s not true because He has given each and every one of us a will. As I said earlier, He will not force you to do something but has made the process of getting saved very easily. He has done this by sending Jesus His only begotten son to die for us.

Therefore, when we put all our problems aside and pray only for the kingdom of God and souls to be saved, you will be pleasing Him and He will turn that situation in your life into a testimony. I think you should try it, after all, there is no harm in trying but don’t forget to share your testimony when it comes through.

6) Praise

Praise is another important key to see the promises of God come to pass. It’s like the icing on the cake. When you get to a crossroad and you don’t know what to do or you’ve tried all and nothing seems to be working then praise is all you’ve got left. I mean fearful praises. Sing and dance like never before, let your heart connect to Heaven, then you will see what will take place. In praises, God comes down and when He comes you don’t expect that situation whatever it may be to remain, God inhabits the praises of His people.

With all said, the following Bible passages will help you.

Exodus 19: 5, Deuteronomy 28: 1-12, Proverbs 16: 20, John 15: 14, 2 John 1: 6 and Luke 11:28.

It is important you put all that has been said into practice to have results.
