thanksgiving: In Every Thing give Thanks

Thanksgiving: In everything give thanks.

Thanksgiving is one of the kingdom mysteries. One gives thanks to making things happen. You give thanks for what you can see and what you can’t see but expect to see. Thanksgiving is done both in good and bad times.  1 Thessalonians 5: 18 says; In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. This passage tells us that it is the will of God we give thanks. When we do the will of God, we obtain the promise (Hebrew 10: 38).

Benefits of Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving causes what you already have to be multiplied. In the physical realm, when you give someone something, and the person thanks you so very much like you’ve done something great for them, sometimes this might make the giver happy and even give more. Something similar happens in the spiritual realm. We can see in Luke 9: 16 how Jesus gave thanks for the 5 Loaves and 2 fishes even though the human mind believes that amount of food cannot feed the multitude of people but Jesus very well knew that His Father can make anything possible.

People miss it when they give thanks with doubt on their heart (James 1: 5- 9). Whatever it is that you request for, don’t doubt (waver) or you will not receive anything from God. When you give thanks, do it with all your heart believing that God is a God of all possibilities. He can make anything happen.

Thanksgiving is necessary for prayers to be answered

In the kingdom of God, everything is orderly. There are processes to take in order to have results. When you pray, whatever form of prayer either supplication, intercession etc, it has to be concluded with thanksgiving before it can be answered. When you give thanks, you believe that God has answered your prayers and you’ve received what you asked for even though you can’t see it yet. Philippians 4: 6-7

Vs – 6: Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

Vs – 7: And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Thanksgiving is very important in making miracles happen. If you’ve expected something and you’ve prayed, fasted and done all you can, why not give thanks, it might be the missing piece.

Thanksgiving and Praise turn your situation around

Are you in a crossroad, are you confused and don’t know what direction to take? Give thanks and praises to God then you will receive clearance.

Before Lazarus came out of the grave, Jesus gave thanks (John 11: 38- 44).

Thanksgiving is the expression of gratitude, especially to God. Praise means an expression of one’s respect and gratitude towards God, especially in song.

Paul and Silas when they were in the prison prayed and prayed. When they saw nothing was happening, they decided to switch gear to praise then something happened. God comes down when our praises ascend to Him. He inhabits the praises of His people (Psalm 22: 3). When God comes down, every everlasting mountain is leveled out (Psalm 24: 7- 10).

Praise is what to do when you don’t know what else to do. Living a lifestyle of praise takes you to another level entirely. If you are the type of person that finds it difficult putting your faith up in respect to various issues, keep thanking and praising God. Heartfelt praise and thanksgiving is what makes God move in one’s situation. Let me give an example. If one is sick or having any form of illness, gather all the strength you have, with Joy and gladness of heart, begin to praise God. Healing can come while one is praising God, few hours, few days depending on how one’s brings God down with faith in praises. One thing for sure is that your healing is in view.

Putting to practice what has been written in this post is what makes the difference.
